Project: Request for Proposals - Baler Industrial Door Replacement

The purpose of this document is to solicit proposals from contractors for the removal of existing door system at the City of Valdez transfer station - Baler Building, located at 500 S. Sawmill Road. Scope includes the aforementioned demolition, purchase/shipping and installation of one new industrial power overhead door including all associated hardware, drivetrain and electrical components. The door replacement is to be “Wayne Dalton ADV-X Model 885” to be consistent with existing doors.
Basis of Design - Currently installed doors are the Re-Coil-Away by Albany Door Systems, which is no longer referenced. A new model replacement door is the Wayne Dalton Model 885 ADV-EXTREAME door and associated components.
A field site visit is required to verify all necessary dimensions and components. Contractor is to submit an availability schedule, project schedule, product warranty information, any proposed value engineering options, copy of current Alaska business license, copy of current contractor license and project pricing as outlined in the provided quote schedule.
The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, and other facilities necessary to perform the required services in accordance with the 2003 City of Valdez Standards & Specifications and local code amendments

The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a quote, to reject any and all quotes without cause, and to re-solicit for quotes.
Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law.
Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met.
The City of Valdez “Standard Specifications and Standard Details” shall be used.
