The Hall of Heroes has been developed to show our gratitude, appreciation, and respect to those who are serving and to those who have served in the U.S. Military.
The Parks & Recreation Department is currently collecting applications and photographs. The wall will be created and on display sometime in 2016. This Newsflash will be updated once it is ready for public viewing.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
To qualify, honorees must meet the following requirements:
Military Status:
Currently serving Active Duty or Reserve
Military Personnel of the United States Armed Forces
OR
Retired Active Duty or Reserve Military Personnel of the United States Armed Forces
Residency:
Current Valdez Resident
OR
Immediate family member of a Current Valdez Resident (Immediate family: husband/wife, son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, father/mother, grandfather/grandmother)
Photo of Service Member:
Photos may be e-mailed to: kmoulton@ci.valdez.ak.us or brought to the Parks & Recreation Office for scanning.
Photos will be displayed at the Civic Center for the remainder of a Service Member’s military
service with the exception of retired military personnel – as these photos will remain on display indefinitely.
As an ongoing program, applications will be accepted at any time by those who wish to honor a hero in the community.
Applications may be picked up at the Parks & Recreation Office located in the Civic Center or online at: www.ci.valdez.ak.us/parks.
