PUBLIC NOTICE

VACANCIES ON CITY BOARDS & COMMISSIONS – MARCH & APRIL 2022

Looking for a civic volunteer opportunity? Want to help improve our community and work towards positive change? Do you have ideas on topics like housing development, childcare, small business support, historical preservation, or literacy? If so, there are several critical positions on City of Valdez boards and commissions open this month! 

  • Valdez Museum & Historical Archive Association Board of Directors: Two vacancies, one for a full term and one for a partial term. Appointee to partial term to serve an approximate two-year term, expiring January 2024. Appointee to full term to serve an approximate three-year term, expiring January 2025.

  • City Library Board: One vacancy due to resignation. Appointee to serve an approximate four-month partial term, expiring August 2022.

Online applications may be submitted through the city’s boards and commissions’ application portal at www.valdezak.gov/BoardsAndCommissions

Paper applications are available at City Hall and can be submitted by email to the City Clerk’s Office at sboyles@valdezak.gov or dropped off at the front desk of City Hall. 

Application deadline is April 12th at 5pm for appointment by City Council on April 19th.
