[ARCHIVED] Public Open House for Indoor Recreation Facility Feasibility Study

RC Study Open House Flyer_7.21.21

The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department has retained CSL International and Perkins & Will to conduct a Feasibility Study for a Multi-Use Recreation Center/Indoor Recreation Facility.  The study will analyze and determine whether a new facility is feasible, and if so, the appropriate type, size, and location of such a facility. It is imperative that any new facility meet the needs of all citizens and potential user groups.

To ensure all citizens have the opportunity to participate in the planning process and provide feedback, the project team will be hosting a public open house at Valdez Brewing on July 21st from 6pm to 9pm.  This gathering will allow citizens to voice their opinions and ask questions regarding the proposed facility, across topics as preferred event types, location, amenities, and other facility-related issues.

As part of this gathering, you are invited to fill out your own Build-a-Center Worksheet. The worksheet includes a list of priced items you may choose from to put together your “ideal recreation center” while staying under a specified budget.  If you would like to fill this form out ahead of time before attending the session, or would prefer to participate in this process without attending the Valdez Brewing event in person, please email the form back to after taking your time to complete the exercise. Instructions on how to complete the exercise are included at the top of the worksheet. Otherwise, printed versions of these sheets will be made available at the session on July 21st, and the CSL project team will be onsite to offer guidance and answer questions on the exercise.

In addition, the attached Build-a-Center Workbook includes more detail regarding the various facility elements described within the worksheet.  If you prefer to complete the worksheet electronically, please refer to this document as you complete your worksheet.
