The City of Valdez Parks & Recreation Commission is an advisory commission to City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission. It shall act in an advisory capacity to the city regarding the planning, implementation and enforcement of programs dealing with the establishment, development and maintenance of parks, the creation and preservation of recreational facilities and opportunities, and the conservation of natural and recreational features within the city.
The commission is comprised of seven (7) commissioners who are interested in parks and recreation opportunities and programs for the benefit of the city. Commissioners are approved by the Valdez City Council for three-year terms.
All meetings are open to the public and held on the second Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:00pm at City Hall in the Council Chambers, 212 Chenega Avenue.
