NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION ON FEBRUARY 7TH 2023 - Notice is hereby given that pursuant to applicable law and ordinances (or Code of Laws of the City of Valdez) a Special Election will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. to vote on the following Proposition: PROPOSITION NO. 1 - Shall the following amendment be made to Chapter 3.12, Section 3.12.040 of the Valdez Municipal Code to increase the residential property tax exemption from fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) of the assessed value or the maximum allowed under state law, whichever is greater? APPLICATION PERIOD OPEN FOR VALDEZ BEAUTIFICATION MATCHING GRANT- The 2023 application period is open for the Valdez Beautification Matching Grant Program. Applications are due March 9, 2023 at 5 PM. Valdez businesses and commercial property owners are invited to apply for this funding to complete aesthetic upgrades to their property.
