Holiday Trash Collection Schedule

The City of Valdez observes 13 holidays each year:

• New Year's Day
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• President's Day
• Seward's Day
• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Alaska Day
• Veteran's Day
• Thanksgiving Day and the day after
• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day

 The following are no pick-up days:

New Year’s Day (January 1) 

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes January 2 or the next business day

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

Martin Luther King Jr Day (Third Monday in January)

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes Tuesday

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

President’s Day (Third Monday in February)

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes Tuesday

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

Seward’s Day (Last Monday in March)

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes Tuesday

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

Memorial Day (Last Monday in May)

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes Tuesday

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

Independence Day (July 4)

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes July 5 or the next business day 

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

Labor Day (First Monday in September)

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes Tuesday

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

Alaska Day (October 18)

Residential trash- No change in services

Commercial trash- Resumes October 19 or the next business day

Veteran’s Day  (November 10)

                Commercial trash- Resumes November 11 or the next business day

Thanksgiving Day (Fourth Thursday in November)

Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- Resumes Saturday

                Baler Facility is closed to the public

Christmas Eve (December 24)

                Residential trash- No change in services

                Commercial trash- No change in services

                Baler Facility is open from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Christmas Day (December 25)    

Residential trash- No change in services

Commercial trash- Resumes December 26 or the next business day 

Baler Facility is closed to the public
