You are eligible for a library card if you are a temporary or permanent resident of the City of Valdez. Residents must apply for a card in person at the library and have available a picture ID and proof of a local P.O. Box. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive a library card. You must be five years old to receive a library card.
Visitors to Valdez may purchase a Temporary Card. There is a $5 fee and the card is active for three months. Temporary card holders may check out two items at a time.
Books, audiobooks, magazines, and CDs: 28 days
Leased and new books: 14 days
Videos and DVDs: 7 days
Library items may be renewed online, in person, or by phone. Most items are eligible to be renewed up to two times. Items with holds will not be renewed and should be returned by the original due date.
All late books, audiobooks, and CDs will accrue a fine of $0.10 per day. All late DVDs and videos will accrue a fine of $1 per day. Please call the library at (907) 835-4632 to renew items, or access your account in the Library Catalog.
The Valdez Consortium Library accepts donations of books, CDs, and DVDs. We do not accept magazines. It is the decision of the library staff what donated items will be placed in the collection.
