The City Council
The elective officers of the city shall consist of the Mayor and six Council Members.
The Mayor and each Council Member shall be elected from the city at large. The term of office for each Council Member and Mayor shall be three years and shall commence on the next regular Council meeting following the election.
The Council shall exercise all of the legislative and policy-making powers of the city and shall provide for the performance of all duties and obligations imposed upon the city by law.

Nominating Petitions Available for the 2023 Regular Municipal Election
Nominating Petitions are now available in the City Clerk's Office if you are interested in running for School Board or City Council.
The following City Council seats will be on the May 2nd ballot:
- 2 seats each to serve a 3-year term
- 1 seat to serve a 1-year term
Additionally, the following School Board Seats are up for election:
- 3 seats each to serve a 3-year term
- 1 seat to serve a 1-year term
Nominating Petitions must be completed and returned to the Clerk's Office by March 15, 2023 at 5:00 PM.
